Hello to you... Today we had 251 people through Santa's Wonderland. We also had some dog's. There was a Chocolate Lab pup, an American Pointer, a Jack Russel Terrier, a Black Lab, a Rottweiler, and an Alaskan Husky (with the blue rings around her eyes).
Today was a really odd day to say the least. The rain today was a down pour to put it nicely! It started at 8 am and ended around 7 pm. The rain was so loud in the break area that people could not hear each other talk. When the rain was at it's worst, the store was busy (which is good) and when the weather cleared so people could go shopping it slowed down (not so good). Today we saw a lot more infants for some reason than we normally do. Plus the biggie, the computer photo system worked all day (usually there is some issue). Even the Elves were a bit on the odd side. Santa was the only true normal one in the area!
Here's something to give us all some hope. Near the end of the day a group of 5 Teens (4 boys and 1 girl) came in to see the "Talent." As they all piled in for the picture with me, Santa was gone from view. Elf Cindi (the one kids keep asking for) noticed that all you could see of the "Talent" was his lower legs and his super cool boots...the rest was gone. Well, due to her expert training, she sprang into action and dug through the kids to make a breathing hole for Santa. (That's NOT the HOPE part yet.) So after saving the "Dude in the Red Suit," and the picture, the teens all went to the coloring table to color. Soon after I heard singing (I thought ???) So being the kind and Normal one, I walked toward the singing and found the teens coloring and singing Christmas songs. I joined them for a few seconds, then noticed they all did better (harmony) with out my wonderful and clear voice. They continued for almost 30 minutes. That gives me (and should you) some hope for a better tomorrow. (Plus, their coloring was pretty good.)
Time to sing the night, night song,
Santa Joe
