Well it's true, and Sunday will be to..

Hey I rhyme!

I just want to say that Black Saturday is alive and well. We had 520 little darlings in and around Santa's lap. Plus we had 3 Boxers, and a Shi-poo (a cross between a Poodle and a Shitsu).

Let me start out by saying that Santa is Human and is affected by what goes on. So with no notice, walking off Wonderland completely for an immediate break is odd even for me. To those Elves that were caught off guard I am sorry, but I won't say it will not happen again. However, you all handled the crowd well until I could came back. Thanks.

I cannot share with you all what happened to Santa in this blog, but I can say I was almost ripped in half. People trust Santa with some deep dark secrets - really privite ones - especially the kids, and Satuday won the season so far.

There were bright spots in Black Saturday. I had the honor to be Santa to a little blind 6-8 year old girl. She was born in China and adopted with her siblings by a couple from PA. (Now if you are asking why it's okay to share this story, but not the other - this was public and the mother's comments were said in public.) Well all 4 children (the little girl and her biological siblings) had their picture taken with Santa. I had her placed between my legs and I held her hands. Her Mom told me she "sees with her hands." I said I understand, and noticed the national symbol on the chain around her neck.

After the photos and the asking of questions, I asked her siblings to please be quiet and I took the little girls hands and placed them on my face. She got startled and pulled back. I told her it was ok, and that Santa wanted her to understand who/what Santa is. So with an OK from Mom, I placed her hand back on my face. The girl felt my face, head, Santa Hat and Tassel (she was so thrilled with the tassel), beard, jacket and belt buckle. I told her I removed my glasses, closed my eyes, and just let her do her thing. Her sister said that she should be done because other kids were waiting. I said they can wait. After she said she was done and thanked me, I opened my eyes and everybody was crying - mom, siblings, elves, and most of the parents in the crowd. You could hear a pin drop...even the air was still. It was magical.

The little girl liked my beard the most! (Men in China have no facial or body hair. The very elderly have some facial hair, but nothing like mine.) I was told later that the mom said it was her best Christmas ever!

I do have another story, but I will leave tonight as is...
